We noticed a line outside the day before, and went early for breakfast the following morning. We got a table without waiting, but those after us did not. Small area with lots of tables and the noise level is high. The food was really good. Everyone was very helpful, and good service. Our waitress was a little rough around the edges, but everyone else was really nice.
While staying in San Juan there are not a lot of breakfast choices. We were happy to find this place. Waited about 20 minutes for a table. Once seated we were right by the squeaky door that opened every couple of minutes. Unfortunately no one wants to shut the door as they enter or leave so my husband would have to get up and close the door each time. Food was great. The presentation very nice and we were offered ketchup and hot sauce by the young lady who delivered our food who was friendly and smiled. Our waitress was not friendly and never checked on us again except to drop the check and pick up the cash. No...
We had a great experience. Wonderful menu with lots of vegetarian options. The guy who waited on us was awesome and substituted meat for avacado. Most restaurants would just take the meat off and charge you as if you had it, which we expected, but he through in beautiful slices of avacado. Delicious breakfast with a friendly vibe and patient, wonderful staff. He might have been the owner, but if he wasn't, I hope the owner knows how awesome of an employee he has!
Food was amazing! Atmosphere so cute! Mimosas and bloody Mary’s available! Staff was great!!! Answer to every request was YES!
This may be the only restaurant on San Juan Island that doesn't over salt the food. The food is good, but not gourmet; (presentation is basic!) Friendly, efficient wait staff. Warning: very popular and noisy. (Note: I've lived here year round for 27 years.)
We were seated immediately and our server was great. The burgers were fantastic served with fries. The club sandwich was really good too but huge. We had to take some home. Would certainly go again.
We went the Rocky Bay Cafe specifically because I wanted oatmeal, which is oddly hard to find in Friday Harbor. (I was surprised with how many restaurants offer things like chicken fried steak, which I would not expect in the PNW!). It was nothing fancy but very good. The “2 by 2” Eggs with sausage links was ok but nothing stellar. The place is small, and we found a seat easily, early on a Thursday in April. But it filled up while we were there, and it must be crazy in the summer! Service was not fast, but the server was working hard, and it felt like a friendly small town spot, with lots of locals greeted as th...
There were a few tables open when we arrived. We were waited on with drinks quickly. It took a few minutes to get our order taken but it arrived faster than we expected. We had the 2X2 and the eggs Benedict. Both were excellent and cooked perfectly. I dropped my purse and my husband had to use his flashlight to get my items. The edges of the wall had wax buildup but were not dusty. We would definitely return.
I was really pleased. I had the Chilequilles, which were (was?) delightful. Just the right amount of spice, and the eggs were cooked just right. They served the black beans n the side, which is good. Portions were large and the price was reasonable.
Most of the joy of visiting Friday Harbor is the getting there. The boat trip from whatever port is very scenic and exciting, with excellent likelihood of seeing orcas and other marine life along the way. Friday Harbor itself is a cute, upscale little town with plentiful excellent viewpoints & vistas. There are flowers everywhere and lots of public benches that are great for lounging or having picnics. Most of the downtown is very walkable, but some of the streets are a little steep. But be forewarned: for all its "shi-shi-ness," this upscale town is very expensive. You will need a stuffed wallet to enjoy it as...
Hands-down one of the best breakfast’s in the Pacific Northwest let alone Friday Harbor and the owner and staff were very friendly and helpful to accommodate our large party!
Loved! Line was halfway down the block, so you know it's good. Great food, great service, dope art, we'll be back!
Very tasty food, with fast and friendly service in a fun little café.
Best omelette ever and the breakfast burrito was wonderful. The service was very good. Our server went out of her way for us. We will return!
Just had breakfast here while waiting for the ferry to arrive and we were not disappointed. Very friendly and quick service. The food was on point. I had the California Eggs Benedict but had them add their homemade corned beef to it and my husband had the chicken fried steak. My nieces and nephew all had the kids flap jacks and hot cocoas. We will definitely eat here again.
Place is super busy however the service is still very friendly. Dishes are huge and very tasty, coffee (we drink Latte) is ok. We had to wait quite a while to get our food (I think around 30 minutes).
Nice local diner / cafe. Food is hearty and portions generous. Easy going vibe.
Great food! Breakfast all day! It's just really crowded at noon.
Great spot, excellent service, awesome breakfast and lunch. Benry has all the jokes!
Service was friendly. Food was so-so. Food more on par with stuff coming from a Cisco truck (shredded hash browns, mix pancakes). Had chosen this place based on all the great reviews, pretty disappointed. Just tasteless, ho hum food
Yummy food! Parents HAVE to come here every time they are in town.
Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and great food!
Unfriendly to the hearing impaired. Too much noise from misbehaving children to communicate. Food is good but not worth the inability to have a conversation.
I had lunch at Rocky Bay for the first time today. THE best French dip ever! The staff and John were wonderful! It was like being in their home LOLLoved it......Lisa
